Mindtrust Leadership Development Program
Winter 2010
The Mindtrust Leadership Development Program – a leadership development program for fourth year Business, Engineering, Computer Science and MBA students – is back again for an exciting sixth year. We are pleased to offer this highly successful leadership program during the winter of 2010, beginning with the kick-off event on Friday, January 15th, 2010 at University of Ottawa.
The Mindtrust Leadership Development Program offers university students a unique opportunity to enhance their leadership skills. Sixty students (30 from each university) who demonstrate leadership potential are selected and offered a grant valued at $2,000 to participate in a six-week seminar program. The program was designed and developed by professional experts with extensive experience in training business and government leaders. The seminar sessions focus on the development of leadership skills, communication and influence skills, communication assessment, balancing personal and professional life, group process skills, and leadership in action.
Mindtrust has been involved in a number of ways with this partnership. First, identifying the need to encourage leadership “skill development” in university students; second, as advisors on the program content; third, as financial supporters to the leadership development program; and, finally, as participants at the seminar program.
To date OCRI, Chipworks , Futurepath and Bridgewater Systems have signed up as corporate sponsors and invite any other Mindtrust member to consider sponsorship.
The 2010 program involves CEOs and Mindtrust members throughout the sessions – from the kick-off to the closing. We will be hosting an awards reception on March 25th at Telfer School for the students, facilitators, sponsors and Mindtrust members. We encourage you to become involved in this fulfilling initiative. Come and share your business knowledge with the leaders of tomorrow.
